State Children's Insurance Program

Purpose of this program:
To provide funds to States to enable them to initiate and expand child health assistance to uninsured, low-income children. Assistance should be provided primarily by two methods: (1) Obtain health insurance coverage that meets the requirements in Section 2103 relating to the amount, duration, and scope of benefits; or (2) expand eligibility for children under the State's Medicaid program.
